At Mater, we invite you to discover the world of pigments through an exhibition and three activities exploring natural pigments, dyeing techniques and colour in architecture.
The session will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition Colour, Pigment and Origin.
Next, artist Sulé Duc will introduce us to the process of extracting and preparing mineral pigments from materials collected at Font del Ferro. During the demonstration, we will see how mineral material is transformed into pigment and how this can then be turned into paint.
To finish, we will experiment with the pigment and create a small sample of the resulting colour.
