At Mater, we invite you to discover the world of pigments through an exhibition and three activities exploring natural pigments, dyeing techniques and colour in architecture.
The session will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition Colour, Pigment and Origin.
Next, artist Sulé Duc will give a practical demonstration of the process of creating a lake pigment from pomegranate peel.
We will explore how a material of plant origin is transformed into pigment and subsequently into paint.
Finally, we will experiment with the resulting pigment and create a small sample of the colour obtained.
